Jayne Denton is the founder of Ravenstone Wellness and an HCPC registered diagnostic radiographer with more than 30 years' experience in clinical imaging. This page is for journalists looking for expert comment on bone health, and for organisations interested in working with us.
Bone loss does not start on the day you are diagnosed. It develops quietly, over years, while everything feels fine.
You can see your skin change. You can feel your strength drop and your joints stiffen. Bone gives you nothing to notice.
And it does not happen in isolation. Bone, muscle and joints hold each other up, and what affects one tends to affect the others.
Jayne is available for interviews, podcasts, articles and expert comment on bone health, menopause and healthy ageing. Osteoporosis causes more than 500,000 fragility fractures in the UK every year, and many of the people affected had no idea their bones had been changing for years beforehand. Jayne's work is about closing that gap, and she explains it in plain language for any audience.
- Why a fracture is rarely the first sign of bone loss
- Menopause and hidden bone loss
- Bone health after breast cancer treatment
- Bone quality versus bone density, and why both matter
- Exercise, muscle strength and healthy ageing
- Inflammation and musculoskeletal health
- GLP-1 medications and bone health
- Preventative health and longevity

Bone health is closely linked to menopause, strength training, nutrition, recovery and ageing well, so it sits naturally alongside a lot of other services. Our scanner is portable and radiation free, which means we can bring bone screening to your venue, or become the bone screening part of something you already offer.

We run screening days at workplaces, gyms, sports clubs, community groups and partner clinics anywhere in the UK. Each person has a private, radiation free assessment of their bone density and bone quality with Jayne, with no GP referral needed, and leaves with their results and practical next steps. All we need from you is a private room and people who would like to come.

If you run a clinic, a menopause service, a physiotherapy or personal training practice, a retreat or a wellness programme, bone screening can sit inside what you already offer, with Ravenstone providing the assessment and the results conversation. Your clients get a clearer picture of their bone health, and you have something measurable to build the rest of their programme around. We are happy to shape the arrangement around how you work, whether that is a regular clinic day at your premises, a referral route between us, or bone screening included as part of a package you offer.

Jayne's talk, Stronger for Longer, explains how bone loss develops, why it so often goes unnoticed, and what people can do about it at any age. It works well for workplace wellbeing days, menopause groups, conferences and community events, and can be paired with a screening day so people can be assessed on the same day they hear the talk.

Common questions
Do people need a GP referral?
No. Anyone can book a bone health assessment with us directly.
Is the scan safe to repeat?
Yes. The REMS scan uses ultrasound rather than X-ray, so there is no radiation and it can be repeated safely to track changes over time.
Does the scan diagnose osteoporosis?
It is a screening assessment rather than a diagnosis. If the results suggest anything that needs further investigation, Jayne will explain what she has found and recommend speaking to your GP.
Where do you travel to?
Anywhere in the UK, and further afield for events. We see clients at Summerhill Health in Hale and at community venues in Bolton, and screening days run wherever our partners are.
Tell us a little about your organisation and what you have in mind, and Jayne will be in touch to talk it through. There is no commitment at this stage, just a conversation about whether it is a good fit for you.
We'll only use your details to respond to your enquiry, by email or phone.
